Who the Heck Am I and Why Am I Here?
For over a decade, my readers have come to me with questions about my storytelling process and the publishing industry. Now, with over 30 books under my belt, I'm here to share all the nitty gritty.
You may not know me yet, but…
Greetings! I'm Lindsey Pogue, newbie author coach by day and soul-stirring fiction author by night. I've been writing and publishing for over a decade, and the more readers inquire about my storytelling process and how I navigate the overwhelming world of publishing, the more I want to help aspiring and new authors so that their experience doesn’t have to be as chaotic and full of self-doubt as mine was.
Why this, why now?
Throughout my writing career, I’ve fed on reader interaction. They feed my soul and inspire me to keep writing in the lonely, difficult world of being an author. A profession where no one works as hard as you, has to play triage to “all the things” while running a business, writing, and honing story craft . . . and the nitty gritty in between. In short, readers are my everything in this biz, and the more of them that ask me for help in order to make their own dreams come true, the more I desperately want to. Now that I have 30 books under my belt, I can slow down, be present, and help my newbie author friends.
It’s all about the cheer squad!
More than anything, I want to build a community for like-minded creatives, because there are more of us than people realize - my readers chat with each other all the time and never realize they’ve come to me with the same questions. That they have the same aspirations and dreams. We have a cheer squad, we just need to bring everyone together!
Because…
Writing is a solitary business, and we can have the most supportive partners, parents, and friends, but none of them really know how to support us. They can’t really relate. They don’t really understand the anxiety and precision that goes into each page and every sentence of our stories we sweat over. They don’t know the vulnerability we feel each time we press publish, or the imposter syndrome that undoubtably rears its ugly head now and again. They can’t fully understand our high and low points because they have never done what we have done, no matter how much they wish they could.
That’s what I want to be for new authors - the cheer captain. That’s what I want to provide - the cheer squad to celebrate our successes with and hold each other up when we’re disappointed and frustrated. And so, that is the community I have created. Whether it’s here on Substack or through my membership.
This is the place to be if you:
want to write a book, but don't know where to start
struggle with goal setting and follow-through

struggle with fear, overwhelm, or self-doubt
need help staying focused

are interested in my personal experience so you can learn from it
