Magic Moments! The power of Ah-has
The levity of good story flow makes everything feel right in the world.
Since we’ve been chatting about story flow and plotting types this month, I think it’s apt to talk about story breakthroughs and those ah-ha moments that make everything feel right in the world.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - writing is hard. Or rather, it can be.
As storytellers, we don’t only have to dream things up, we have to take ideas from our brains and transcribe them in a way that is universal and digestible to the masses. That’s a big responsibility and a huge undertaking. Sometimes it’s easier than others, but the moments when the story is flowing along and you don’t want to stop make the hurdles we have getting there totally worth it.
For me, it comes when I’ve been submersed in my story for a while and find a groove - the chapters just keep flowing!
I guess this is a quick post to say that the struggles you have while ironing out the mechanics and structure of your story are all worth it when your ideas and characters begin to mesh and you’re in the zone.
It’s a wonderful feeling we all feel off and on throughout the writing process, and I can’t wait for you to find yours!
Happy word-wielding, warriors! You got this.
